Building Online Trust
When networking online, it is always important to remember that everything you leave behind, through links, comments, emails and articles are a calling card of your character and integrity.
You would be amazed how many times people steal content, articles, ideas and other things online and sign their name to it as if it was their own. I am sure that there isn't anything new under the sun, so something one person has done, may not be totally original, but there was time, thought and care put into things, and stealing it isn't worth it in the long run for your business.
Remember, slow and steady, consistent activity helps you build a positive reputation and character within the online community. There are no get rich quick schemes out there and there are plenty of clients, customers, and networks to go around.
Build your business by the "reap what you sow" mentality and your character will take you far in business. A few things to remember. Always include link backs to articles that have been written to the original author and website. Keep open lines of communication with all people you are networking with online. Most of all, participate in the health, success and well being of other businesses and people you are networking with online. Instead of just dropping you name and calling card in on a forum, become an active participant.
The more you learn and are willing to share, the better your business will be 10 years from now not just 10 minutes from now.
