Thankful Tuesday's

Today I am thankful for lazy days! My daughter and I usually have a busy schedule throughout the week and that is why I have kept our Tuesdays pretty clear (until dance in the afternoon!). What I love about Tuesdays is that we can sleep in! I love to sleep in but I learned very quickly after Lilly was born that sleeping in was something of the past! Thankfully, though, Lilly likes to sleep in as well and since I am pregnant, I will take any opportunity for a little extra sleep! So this morning we woke up around 7:45 am (mind you I was up throughout the night to use the bathroom!) and we have had a relaxing day. I realize with baby number two coming in May that these days are numbered, but for the time being, I will treasure them!!

Raspberry Rugalach

A couple of Friday's ago Ruby and I went out with some girlfriends and their pre-school daughters. We went to a local deli/restaurant that has wonderful food and then got pedicures - overall a fun evening! While at this restaurant I tried the Raspberry Rugalach (a type of pastry) which I thoroughly enjoyed! Being pregnant, I haven't craved anything super sweet but this had my number with the right about of "not too sweet." The story doesn't end there...

So normally my husband drops our daughter off at school in the morning and I pick her up. However, last week I took her on Friday and realized I drive right by the before mentioned restaurant with the delicious Raspberry Rugalach calling my name. I drop off my daughter and head back home totally planning on stopping for a sweet treat. I park the car, waddle (I'm getting big) to the restaurant and go up to the bakery counter. There's no one in line and I'm thinking about how many pastries I should buy when I look behind the glass and notice there are trays of every kind of pastry, full trays! BUT, the spot labeled Raspberry Rugalach is completely empty!! Now, it's only 8:30am and so I'm thinking they must be about to put it out since it's so early, but NO! The lady said they are sold out and it's another 30 minutes before more rugulach will be ready. The look she gave me when I said that was the only thing I wanted and stopped in for was too funny! I guess if I wasn't pregnant I might have tried something else but all I could think about was that Raspberry Rugalach. So I left without anything...bummer. Can you believe that...that was the only pastry missing. I will have to try again this week and keep you posted. :)
