Craigs List Marketing

A free and effective way to market your at home business (or anything for that matter) is by using Craig's List.

There are a few stipulations that you should read about before you begin, such as no advertising any MLM opportunities. If you are looking for traffic for your blog, website or product information page make a well written ad with the link embedded in the text. Time and time again, you will recive traffic to your site and eventually new members and sales for your little bit of consistant work.

Make two or three ads and post them in multiple cities and triple your leverage. You can not post the same ad in multiple cities on the same day. You must wait 4 days before you can repost the samde ad, so having several similar ads will allow you to keep getting your name out there.

Thankful Tuesdays

Today I am thankful for several things and I will explain!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to fly to Charleston, SC, to surprise my college roommate (of 4 years) for her 30th birthday. Jessica knew that one of our friends was coming, but had no idea about my visit nor our other roommates, Lindsey's arrival.

Let's just say that Jess is rarely lost for words, but was spellbound when I walked into her house on Saturday morning! It was a priceless moment!!

The four of us spent the weekend reminiscing and catching up. I hadn't seen Jess in 5 years and Lindsey in 2 years and we hadn't all been together for 6 years. So there was a lot to talk about. We mainly laughed, ate, laughed, and ate some more! But since three of us were mommies, it was the best form of relaxation!! We truly had a great time and decided we will do it again (minus the kids and husbands!!) in 5 years...no matter what!!!

I am also thankful for my parents who watched my dd, Lilly, while I was away. Although they had a great time together, it's still hard watching a toddler when you're not use to it! It was also comforting knowing that she was in good hands and wasn't missing me one bit!!

Here are a few pics from the weekend!

Get Organized in 2008 – part 3

Earlier in the year I posted about my weekly plan and monthly plan for staying organized in my home. I just wanted to give an update…

I’ve always been pretty organized so making lists and checking things off was never a huge challenge. But since I’m due with baby #2 any week (or day now), my time is limited to a few productive physical hours and I needed to make a plan to fit all the normal tasks and duties of running a home and caring for a toddler - not to mention Smart Mom responsibilities. :)

I have continued making my "to do" for the next day every night before bed and just refer to my weekly plan to see what “home” tasks to add. This has been really helpful in not getting off task or distracted during the day and wasting time.

These last few weeks I haven’t felt overwhelmed by laundry, mopping, dusting, and picking up. It’s been very freeing to not feel the need to clean the bathrooms all the time or feel behind in housekeeping. I know every room has a designated day for cleaning and it will get done in due time. This has been a HUGE blessing as I am big with baby and couldn’t clean the entire house in one day if I wanted to!

I would encourage you to give the “zone” method of cleaning house a try for a month and see if you aren’t lightened by the work it takes to keep a space clean. If you are blessed enough to have a maid or helper come in and clean then consider "zoning" other aspects of your life. You may find it opens your time up to do the things you really love!
